This colorless liquid has a characteristic sweet smell and is used in glues, nail polish removers, lamination and in the decaffeination process of tea and coffee. Ethyl acetate is the ester of ethanol and acetic acid; it is manufactured on a large scale for use as a solvent. It is also used in paints as an activator or hardener. Ethyl acetate is present in confectionery, perfumes, and fruits. In perfumes, it evaporates quickly, leaving only the scent of the perfume on the skin. Solvent for inks ,paints.Activator for paints. Miscible in all organic solvents. Suitable for industrial coatings, cellulose acetate lacquers, varnishes, shellacs for wood furniture, auto refinishing, decorating ceramic objects and automotive and architectural coatings for interiors and exteriors.Compatible with epoxies, urethanes, cellulosics, acrylics and vinyls. Ethyl acetate exhibits high dilution ratios with both aromatic and aliphatic diluents.
